Obituary
On November 14, 2020, Mrs. Emily Eigner of St. Paul, formerly of Ashmont & St. Lina, passed away at the age of 96 years. She is survived by 4 daughters & 1 son, Lorraine (Bob) Lawton of Mallaig, Arlene Sorensen (John Bart) of Athabasca, Doreen Nugent of Campbell River, B.C., Clayton Eigner of Rockyview & Connie Eigner (Ray Lafortune) of St. Paul; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer Lawton-Godziuk (Larry Godziuk), Jason (Nicole) Lawton, Troy (Monica) Sorensen, Trevor Sorensen (Sarah McMaster), Keren Sorensen (Dave Peacock), Wanda Durocher (Richard), Kevin (Heather) Nugent, Michael (Becky) McDonald & Jaimie Anderson (Marco Prota); step-grandchildren, Andrea (Russ) Martin & Tara Lafortune; great-grandchildren, Gregory & Miriam Godziuk, Owen, Aiden & Avery Lawton, Josie, Emily & Jakob Sorensen, Brooke Wegner (Heather Tournbow), Brennan Nugent (Andrea), Kate Durocher, Austin & Kyrstin McDonald, Alessandro & Bella Anderson-Prota; step-great-grandchildren, Dylan & Danielle Martin, & Tory Shtybel; great-great-grandchild, Lynden; numerous nieces & nephews. Emily was predeceased by her husband, Edward; parents, Edwin & Josephine Nicholls; son, Irvin; 5 sisters, Alberta Clinansmith, Alice Bokvist Fleishman, Sylvia McKenzie, Fern Longeway & Ruth Snyder; 5 brothers, Ralph, Jim, Danny, Forest & Robert. Our loss is sudden and profound, even though she said she was old and tired. The family would like to thank Sunnyside Manor, St. Paul Hospital and Extendicare. During her second last day, Mom spent 5 hours in emergency and was thoroughly examined by Dr. Louw. Thank you so much for your care. A private Funeral Service will be held at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. Mr. Kelsey Snyder will be officiating, with interment in Ashmont Community Cemetery, Ashmont.
