Obituary
On November 18, 2017, Mr. Elmer Filipchuk of St. Paul, formerly of Glendon, passed away at the age of 68 years. He is survived by 2 sisters & 1 brother, Marlene (Denis) Boucher, Michael (Dianne) Filipchuk & Delia (Mitch) Germain all of St. Paul; nieces & nephews, Andrea (Rick) Austin, Armand (Sarah) Boucher, Aaron (Angie) Boucher, Sheldena (Jaron) Parenteau, Amanda (Thomas) Kemsley, Shawn (Rachel) Germain, Alicia (Cody) Rudkowsky & Lance Germain; 15 great-nieces & nephews, Kennedi (Tyler), Carter, Owen, Ella, Bronwyn, Emmitt, Lincoln, Jakin, Cohen, McKinley, Emelia, Slade, Paisley, Oaklyn & Everly; great-great-niece, Abigail. He was predeceased by his parents, Mike & Mary. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 24 at 10:30 a.m. at R.C.M.P. Hall, Glendon. Reverend Father Peter Haugen will be officiating, with interment in Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Nowa Bukowina. What a perfect picture chosen for Elmer’s obituary. He looks so alive and has that mischievous smirk that portrays his radiance of warmth, kindness and fun.
Meeting and having a chat with Elmer at the curling rink is something we thoroughly enjoyed. He was extremely devoted to cheering his family on at curling bonspiels. He was very proud of their curling expertise.
Known as the “Joke Man”, to this day, we are puzzled at how he was able to accumulate so many unique, entertaining, clean, funny jokes.
R.I.P. Elmer. You’ll be missed!
