Obituary
On January 16, 2016, Dr. Phyllis Cardinal passed away at the age of 64 years after a lengthy illness. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ernie; 4 children, Neva (Vince) Cardinal, Mark (Lenora), Deanna (Wayne) Morin & Curtis; 10 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Eagle Child (Myrna) & Nick (Margaret) Morin; sister-in-law, Theresa Cardinal. She was predeceased by her parents, Fred & Josephine L’Hirondelle; brother, Robert; grandson, Brian Cardinal. A Wake will be held on Tuesday, January 19 at Amiskwaciy Academy, Edmonton. A second Wake will be held Wednesday, January 20 at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. I was only recently informed of Phyllis’s passing. I wish to express my sincere sympathies to the entire family. She was a lovely lady and a great person to work for. Before I left for Asia in November, I had a lovely visit with her. I will truly miss her presence in the educational world.
