Obituary
On November 4, 2014, Mr. Doug Bowen of Elk Point passed away at the age of 61 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Val Wiersema; daughter, Chantal Bowen (Don Shaw); 2 sons, Shaun Bowen & Steven Bowen; Shaun & Steven’s mother, Judy Bowen; mother, Kathleen Bowen; brother, Jim (Amelia); nephew, Grant (Erna) & their daughter, Emily; niece, Roberta (Glen) & their children, Brenden & Colton; aunt, Vera; numerous cousins, step-nieces & step-nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Marshall. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, November 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Elk Point Seniors Centre, Elk Point. Pastor Kelly Sibley officiated. Cremation has taken place. If desired, donations may be made to Haying in the 30's (Cancer Support Society) c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1. Hello.
I just happened upon Doug’s obituary and am saddened by his passing. Doug and I were best school friends when the family lived in Ardmore. I still remember some great times together as kids. The best to yourself Val, and to Doug’s mom and brother Jim.
