Dorine KUZMA

Obituary
Dorine Violet Kuzma (nee Sunderman) passed away peacefully on September 2, 2017 in St. Paul at the age of 82 years. Born and raised in Fork Lake, AB, the second of 6 daughters of Joe & Lillian Sunderman. Dorine married Paul Kuzma in 1957 & originally they lived in Edmonton. In 1965 they moved to Spedden and operated a general store before settling on a farm in 1970 near St. Paul and raising their 5 children.
Dorine volunteered with various groups & organizations in the community. She was a dedicated 4-H leader, president of the Ag Society and an active member of the Town Recreation Board, PC Party, Figure Skating and Ukrainian Dance Clubs. She worked at Value Drug Mart & the Auction Mart for over 20 years.
Dorine was predeceased by her husband, Paul Kuzma; parents, Joe & Lillian Sunderman; sisters, Carol Palkun & Vera Pukal; brothers-in-law, Lou Pukal & Joe Bell. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children and grandchildren, Darrel and his children, Jamie & Cameron Kuzma of St. Paul, Rhonda (Rob) and their children, Savannah & Rachel Bundy of Goderich, ON, Curtis (Monique) and their children, Zachary & Bailey Kuzma of Beaumont, Corrine (Peter) and their children, Erica & Ryan Ward of Calgary & Michelle Kuzma (Duane Lucius) of Edmonton; sisters, Lois (Ed) Warawa of Chilliwack, BC, Elinor Bell of Cardiff & Gail (Don) Draper of Calgary; brother-in-law, Walter Palkun of Boyle; numerous nieces & nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 9 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Cathedral, St. Paul. Reverend Father Gerard Gauthier will be officiating with interment in Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haying in the 30’s (Cancer Support Society) c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1. I remember times spent on the Kuzma farm in St. Paul and Aunt Dorine always had a smile on her face. I will miss her and send my cousins my sincere condolences. She and all her sisters were and are strong women and great role models for us all. Rest in peace Aunt Dorine and be one with God.
