WENGER, Dmytro Myron “Morris”
April 6, 1931 – April 7, 2012
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad and Gido, Dmytro Myron Wenger “Morris” of Radway, Alberta after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his 2 daughters, who stayed by his side until the end, Vivian (Eric) Lesperance & Henia (David) Kwiatkowski; 4 grandchildren who loved him dearly, Kelly (Dayna) Macyk, Amy (Anderson) Macyk-Rairie, Kaitlin & Brandon Kwiatkowski; 2 great-granddaughters, Izabella & Emmaleah Rairie; 2 brothers, Adolphe (Mary) Wenger of Montreal, QC. & their 2 children, Peter (Hania) Wenger & their daughter, Katherine & Elaine (Austin) Persico & their son, Matthew; Ambrose (Sonia) Wenger & their daughter, Sharon; favorite sister-in-law, Elaine Achtemichuk. Dad was predeceased by his loving wife & soul mate, Olga; parents, Dmytro & Katherine: sister, Lillian; brother, Roman; parents-in-law, William & Katherine Hnytka; brother-in-law, Peter Achtemichuk; numerous other family members & friends. To know dad was to love him. He readily greeted everybody that came to visit with stories from his life and he loved to show off the intricate barn bird houses that he meticulously put together with pride. He was extremely proud of the fact that he maintained the family farm as he believed agriculture was the most important industry in the world. One of Dad’s proudest moments was to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the family farm in 2008 and the naming of the road that led to our farm as “Wenger Road”. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Radway Agri-Centre, Radway. Very Reverend Alex Palamarchuk will be officiating with interment in Holy Ascension Orthodox Cemetery, Radway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Redwater Health Centre (Palliative Care Unit) c/o Box 1780, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A0.
