Obituary

On September 24, 2024, Daniel Newborn Larocque Cardinal of Saddle Lake, Alberta passed away at the age of 53 years.  He is survived by his children, Robyn Crane, Dustin Steinhauer, Daniel Jr. Crane, Trent Crane, Tina-Ann Desjarlais, Jules Crane, Tatum Crane & Isaac Crane; his grandchildren, Robyn’s sons, Chaisyn Mahingan-Crane & Kingston Crane, Dustin’s son, Dante Steinhauer, Daniel’s children, Devon Houle, Tia Rose Houle, Stormy Steinhauer-Crane, Winter Steinhauer-Crane, Summer Saddleback-Crane & Honey Saddleback-Crane, Jules’ daughters, Giulianna & Ava Crane; mothers of his children, Delainie Crane & Charlotte Steinhauer; siblings, Samuel Newborn, Elisha Larocque, Nat Larocque, Bill Quinn & Peter Cardinal; aunt, Shirley Shirt-Thomas; uncles, Terry Newborn, Eugene Newborn & John Sr. Thomas; nieces, Renee Cantin, Paige Cantin, Gabrielle Jubinville, Destiny Thomas, Jessica Thomas, Erica Newborn, Summer Newborn & Brandy Belcourt-Newborn; nephews, Joseph Cantin, Coltin Thomas, Justice Thomas & Samuel Jr. Newborn. Daniel was predeceased by his 2 daughters, Chantel & Cheyanne Crane; grandchildren, Joseph Crane (Trent’s Baby) & Sonny Crane (Daniel’s son); mother, Rose Newborn; father, Raymond Larocque; step-fathers, Bill Quinn & Peter Cardinal; siblings, Clayton Quinn & Eric Cardinal; grandparents, Eleanor Thomas, Ben Newborn, Samuel & Ann Larocque; aunts, Mary Newborn, Pauline Newborn, Caroline Newborn, Brenda Ward & Jeannette Newborn; uncles, Joe Newborn, Angus Newborn & Baptiste Newborn; all of our ancestors who passed on before us & many many more relatives as the stars in the sky.  A Wake will be held on Saturday, September 28 (leaving Grace Gardens at 1:00 p.m.) at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake.  A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 30  at 11:00 a.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. Reverend Father Michael Ngo will be officiating with interment in United Church Cemetery, Saddle Lake.
