On November 25, 2021, Daina “Bumble Bee” Cardinal-Kakeesim of Saddle Lake passed away at the age of 34 years. She is survived by her husband, Monty Cardinal; children, Hayvin Cardinal (Meadow), Kale, Lexon, Percauis & Dante; father, Ferlin D. McGilvery; siblings, Tanya (Jasmine), Melissa (Terry), Ferleen (Craig), Davis (Cheyenne), Sarah-Jean & Elijah (Savannah); mother- & father-in-law, Emilene & Edward Blood; auntie moms, Miranda McGilvery, Lillian Kakeesim & Ernestine Paul; uncles, Ken Kakeesim, David Kakeesim (Shanda), Louis Kakeesim & Eric Kakeesim. Daina was predeceased by her mother, Bertha Marie Kakeesim; sister in infancy, Jody Kakeesim; paternal grandparents, Rose McGilvery, David McGilvery & Gordon McGilvery Sr.; step-mother, Nicole Harrison; step-brother, Thomas Crossan; brother-in-law, Emroy Cardinal Sr.; nephew, Greyson Cardinal. A Private Wake & Funeral Service will be held at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake with interment in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Saddle Lake.
