Obituary
On August 5, 2022, Mr. Brent Tychkowsky of St. Paul passed away at the age of 50 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Candace; children, Thomas Steinhauer, Nicholas Steinhauer, Jayden Tychkowsky & Cearra Tychkowsky; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Sharon (Edward Cardinal) Jackson & Cindy Tychkowsky; nieces & nephews, Lisa (Michael) Gruber, Shane Jackson, Jessica (Brett Gabriel) Jackson & Duncan (Jordana Peckford) Reimer; numerous great-nieces & -nephews. Brent was predeceased by his father, Victor; mother, Lorraine; & stepson, Shawn Cardinal. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Centennial Seniors Centre, St. Paul. Reverend Father André Semusambi will be officiating, with interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, St. Paul. From everything my girlfriend, Cearra Sky Tychkowsky, has told me about her father, I know he was a very sweet, kind, selfless, and loving father, friend, and husband. There is a memory Cearra told me about him and her mom, where one night when she was much younger, she was having a very bad toothache late at night before bed. She told both of her parents. Her father went out, despite the time and weather, alone, to find out if there was anything he could purchase somewhere that would help relieve his daughter of the dreadful pain her toothache was giving her, while her caring and loving mother stayed behind with her to help comfort her through the pain until her father returned. Brent loved his close ones dearly and is the perfect example of what every dad should be for their children. Although I don’t plan to be a father myself, I find him incredibly inspiring and I sincerely hope he can inspire others as well! We never got to know each other personally, but one evening/night, Brent and I talked on the phone for a few minutes once while he was in the hospital. He made a comment about how he wanted me to take care of his daughter, Cearra. I assured him I would, and I intend to honor his wishes. 2 days before he passed, I made and sent Cearra a voice message specifically for her father. It hurt me a bit, knowing what was most likely going to happen and the fact I likely wouldn’t ever be able to meet Mr. Tychkowsky. In the voice message, I mainly assured him and promised him that I would take care of his daughter by any means, my plans on spending the rest of my life with her, and how he inspired me so much. I never got a reply from him, but I just hope it brought him some comfort and maybe happiness, despite not knowing me very well, because I know all he wanted was to make his daughter happy. Despite the circumstances of his last few days, I’m certain that he was happy with how much love and support was around him constantly on those days. I just wish I could’ve met him, or at least gotten to know him more..Love and prayers to him and his family. My sincere condolences – Daniel Hinojos
