Bohdan (Bud) BURYN

Obituary
Bohdan (Bud) Buryn peacefully passed away this Easter Sunday on April 21, 2019. Born on March 11, 1947 in the Radway hospital, Bohdan was the 10th and final child born to his family. Growing up in Radway and moving to Edmonton as an adult, he met and married Jayne Korol and raised two sons in Fort Saskatchewan. Bohdan is predeceased by his wife of 48 years, his parents William & Domka, and his siblings Michael, Peter, & Grace. He is survived by his sons Adam & Paul, his daughter-in-law Marta, his beloved granddaughters Kristin, Maia, & Xenia, and his siblings John, Walter, & Nestor.
The Prayer Service will be held on Sunday April 28, 2019 at 7:00 pm and the Divine Liturgy & Funeral Service will be on Monday April 29, 2019 at 10:00 am, both at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church (9507 Austin O’Brien Road NW Edmonton, Alberta). Reverend Father Julian Bilyj will be the celebrant with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery (13819-82 Street NW Edmonton, Alberta).
Special thank you to Jubilee Lodge and to the Ukrainian Catholic clergy for the excellent care and support Bohdan received in his final days. I have many great memories of Bud from his time at FSCC. He holds a special place in my heart and I reminded of him whenever I see a yellowbird as he often sang this song as he was driving through the gate. The yellow bird I gave him brought us both a smile to his face and found a home hanging from his mirror.
