Bobby Lajeunesse
May 15, 1977 - May 16, 2015
Obituary
On May 16, 2015 Bobby Lajeunesse of St. Vincent, formerly of Calgary & Sault Ste. Marie, ON., was in a tragic accident and passed away suddenly at the age of 38 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Christine & their two boys, Jack & Nicholas; parents, Roger & Nicole Lajeunesse of Sault Ste. Marie, ON.; sister, Jenny (Sean) & their daughter, Madison of Caledon, ON.; in-laws, Lois (Richard) Dargis & their children, Sean & Lisa, Robert (Kathy) Arteau & their children, John & Scott; Christine’s grandparents, Helen Willison, Faith Simmons & Pépère Pierre Dargis; uncles, aunties, cousins & many friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents. Bobby graduated from the Environmental Technology program at Sault St. Marie College in 1999 & that same year moved west to Calgary to pursue a career in the Oil & Gas industry where he was successfully employed with a number of companies. The move to Calgary resulted in the best thing to happen in Bobby’s life, when he met his future bride Christine in 2000. They were married in July, 2006 & from then on family became the focus of his life. In his spare time, which was often limited, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping & fishing where he could spend time relaxing with family & friends. Bobby always looked after his body & he loved to hit the gym to lift weights. He took his bodybuilding to an elite level & in 2003 participated in a number of competitions. As he liked to say, “Stay shredded”. In addition to these many interests, as a young boy Bobby learned the skills & passion towards woodworking & carpentry from his father, Roger. He liked nothing more than to tackle a project with his dad. In 2013, Bobby, Christine & the boys moved to the farm near Glendon, Alberta & immersed themselves in rural life while pursuing Oil & Gas. Bobby enjoyed farming with his in-laws, Richard and Lois, and looked forward to Christine’s home cooked meals that reminded him of his mother, Nicole’s cooking. Bobby passed on his passion for sports to his sons & young Jack has become quite a hockey player. The two of them shared his undying devotion to “les Habitants” (Montreal Canadians) which Jack will carry with him forever. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 25 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Cathedral, St. Paul, Alberta. Reverend Father Gerard Gauthier will be the celebrant with Reverend Victor Kim from Grace Presbyterian Church, Calgary. Cremation will follow, with inurnment in St. Vincent Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Vincent, Alberta at a later date. In lieu of floral tributes, donations may be made to Jack & Nicholas Lajeunesse c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB. T0A 3A1. A person could not ask for a better friend. The memories I have of times spent with Bobby over the last 26 years will last me forever. Never have I met a kinder soul with such a bright outlook on life. Bobby had a way of making me smile and laugh whether it was in person or a random text out of no where about something completely out of the blue. I am saddened by your passing my friend but I am grateful of the time we spent together, you truly are one of a kind. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life and for your friendship. You are like a brother to me and you were taken too soon…until we meet again my friend.
