From: Brandi Thomson
Relation: Aunt

Many memories spent with you at grandmas when you’d come down to visit and then many phone calls over the years just to check in. We spoke after your diagnosis and you were weak but strong as you bravely faced this nightmare head on , we spoke only a few weeks ago.. I didn’t know saying goodbye that day would be the last but knew the possibility of it. May your kids and Fred find solace now that you are no longer in pain and can sore with the angels. Keep watch over them.. they’ll continue to need your guidance. Rest in paradise Aunty

Dear Fred and family, How saddened I am to hear of Bev’s passing away. We used to have so much fun, bowling in St Paul 25 years ago. Those were the days. Such fun times. Treasure the memories, they will help you through the troubled times. Take care. Marion Smyth and Don a good, Vermilion

Fred and family. So sorry for your loss. I wish we could have seen each other more. Life took us in different directions. We had good times growing up. Remember the good times. She was taken way to soon.

From: Bronwyn Chisholm
Relation: Friend

Bev was a wonderful person, and a dear friend to me: her steadiness in the face of challenge was immediately apparent when I met her almost 10 years ago. She was a warm and kind friend, and a gentle reminder to me that life mustn’t be always serious – when I was a new Mom and not putting enough time into myself. I will forever cherish popcorn and a movie shared together – even some rather cheesy ones! We laughed hard. Extra butter with the popcorn for sure:)
Bev was so kind, sharing her time and love with our little daughter, who loved Bev so much.
Bev spoke with such love and gentleness about her daughters, grandchildren, and Fred – it was evident to me that her family was her everything.
I am struck by Bev’s acceptance and patience in the face of life’s adversities, and this was exactly how she seemed to approach this last struggle. She will forever be an example to me. I hope that when my time comes, I can face the end with such grace.
To Fred, Kellie, Kim, Natasha, and all the family, my heart goes out to you and I sincerely hope that Bev’s strength and the many beautiful memories you have can be a tremendous solace at this time. Your Mum would so want you to be happy.
Know that we send our love to you all from Winnipeg.
