I am Heather, the youngest daughter of Bernie. I want to thank everyone for their condolences to my mom and the rest of our family. It really means so much to me. I will miss my Dad so much! He was a great man and father. A huge empty hole that will never be filled. Grief is such a hard, lonely place really but life must go on and somehow we all get through. Knowing you cared is a great solice.

Blanch and family: My sincere condolences to you all. I have many great memories of times spent together – sharing birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, Halloween, and other occasions. We once made homemade ice cream together, put it in the freezer to chill, and later came back from the tavern to enjoy our wonderful treat. On a beautiful summer day, the boys left hay that was ready to be baled, hooked up the boat and took everyone to the lake for a day of waterskiing. It may have rained that night, but the good times were worth it. We were very fortunate to be part of your extended family Bernie will be sadly missed by all. Love, Vicky Slowski

This news hits really hard. I can’t count how many times Bernie (and Blanch) sat at my mom and dad’s kitchen table, talking and laughing until the wee hours of the morning. Great memories. I also can’t count how many times as a dusty and dirty teenager out in the field driving a tractor on a hot summer day, where I would notice that red and white Mercury truck bouncing across the field toward me. Bernie would jump out, smile, hand me a cold one, and ask me how my day was going. It is impossible to describe how good it made me feel to be sitting on the tailgate of that truck, talking and having a beer with Bernie. It doesn’t get any better than that. Thank you Bernie Martin. My sincerest condolences to Blanch and all of the Martin family.
