On January 25, 2016, Mr. Vernon “Babe” Sharkey of Heinsburg passed away at the age of 85 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Colleen; daughter, Lora (Gary) Meiklejohn; son, Rocky (Joanne) Sharkey; 6 grandchildren, Tarelle (Phil) Stubbs, Travis (Danielle) Meiklejohn, Tiana (Lee) Zwarich, Jamie (Tatjana) Sharkey, Aaron Sharkey & Dustin (Jenna) Sharkey; 11 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Nolin & Dalan Stubbs, Alexi Meiklejohn, Taya, Hayes & Wyatt Zwarich, Noah & Nate Sharkey, Montana & Scarlet Sharkey; 2 sisters-in-law, Olga Sharkey & Barbara Boyle; 3 brothers-in-law, Laverne (Doris) Wilson, Ken (Carol) Hunt & Ken Shephard; numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Exie & Thelma Sharkey; brother, Lawrence; & sister, Lila Wilson. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Heinsburg Community Hall, Heinsburg. Pastor Kelly Sibley will be officiating, with interment in Frog Lake Community Cemetery, Heinsburg.
