Obituary
On June 23, 2017, Ashton William Cardinal of Edmonton passed away at the age of 17 years. He is survived by his mother, Vanessa Cardinal; siblings, Allan, Ayla, Kaylin, Percy, Angel & Taylor; grandparents, Mary & Glen Potts; uncle, Billy (Leslie) Cardinal; aunty, Mandy Cardinal; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents & great-grandparents. He was predeceased by his father, Louie Dixon Jr.; paternal grandmother, Shirley Cardinal; paternal grandfather, Louie Dixon Sr.; maternal grandfather, Grant Cardinal; 2 siblings, Irene & Tony Bull-Cardinal; uncle, Allan Simon. A Wake will be held on Sunday & Monday, July 2 & 3 (leaving Grace Gardens at 2:00 p.m.) at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. A Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake with interment in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Saddle Lake. There are no words….but there are heartfelt wishes and healing thoughts being sent your way. Ashton was a student of mine in his elementary years. He was a gentle, respectful young man. I was always very fond of him and have thought of him often. My deepest sympathy to his entire family. To Mary, Glen and Allan …I send you a big hug. My heart aches for you!
