On January 23, 2021, Arlen “Punchuk” Cardinal of Saddle Lake, raised in Goodfish Lake, passed away at the age of 60 years. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Arlen Cardinal Jr. (Desirea) of Valleyview, Erin Cardinal of St. Paul, James, Faith & Ayden Cardinal-Sheppard of Ocean Man First Nation, Sask.; 3 step-daughters, Wendy Clarke of Edmonton, Nadine Kerr of Saddle Lake & Roberta Cardinal of Saddle Lake; 16 grandchildren, Jamie, Jullian, Skylynn, Rivers, Novaya, Easton, Nicholas, Gabriel, Priscilla, Caleb, Shale, Colby, Shelby, Shantel, Brooke & Stevo; mother, Violet M. Cardinal of Saddle Lake; 6 siblings, Sharon Makokis of Saddle Lake, Aaron Cardinal (Lexas) of Regina, Sask., Warren Cardinal of Saddle Lake, Gwen McKenzie of Regina, Sask., Byron Cardinal (Jeanett) of Edmonton & Leeann Cardinal of Saddle Lake; 16 nieces & nephews; 42 great-nieces & -nephews; mother of his children, Charline Cardinal of Saddle Lake. Arlen was predeceased by his father, Stanley W. Cardinal; maternal & paternal grandparents, Louie & Dora (Steinhauer) Cardinal, David & Amelia (Dumont) Makokis; nephews, Ryan Thompson, Bryce Thompson & Leo Cardinal; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives & friends. A Private Funeral Service will be held at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. Pastor Frank Morin will be officiating, with interment in United Church Cemetery, Saddle Lake.
