My grand mother made the best mashed potatoes, she sewed beautiful patchwork blankets and turned ordinary, everyday things into something pretty.
She always called me her baby, even when I was far to old, and I loved it. Every now and again an envelope used to arrive in the post with folded paper and handwritten notes inside. I cherished those small notes and loved calling her to say thank you and hear her voice.
My love and thoughts are with my aunts and uncles who lost their mother, especially my Uncle Dennis. Your devotion to her no doubt brought her great comfort. Thank you for everything you did- her companion, her youngest baby.
Attached is a picture of my son Benjamin playing peacefully on the beach. I will always imagine that this is where my grandmother is now, watching over all of us and enjoying our peaceful and happy moments with us.
