Obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our Mother and Baba, Anne Sawchuk of Weasel Creek. Surrounded by her loving family, Anne passed away on September 13, 2014, at the age of 86 years. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Iris (Billy) Kirk of Weasel Creek, Milly (Olly) Toronchuk of Fort Saskatchewan, Linda (Johnny) Kirk of Abee & Barb (John) Maier of Fort Saskatchewan. Anne was Baba to Barry (Lorelei) Kirk, Lori (Peter) Arndt, Corey (Lisa) Kirk, Clinton (Stacey) Kirk, Darren (Carole) Kirk, Shawna (Kyle) Hopkins, Cortnee (Jeremy) Cunningham, Sean Mazurenko, Amanda (Dustin) Simmons & Melissa (Gregg) Lott; 30 great-grandchildren & 3 great-great-grandchildren. Sister to Peter Melnyk, Nick (Madeline) Melnyk, Mary Sawchuk, Stella Sumka, Olga (Joe) Klem; special sister-in-law, Helen Turyk; brother-in-law, Al Shipka; 2 sisters-in-law, Olga Melnyk & Olga Sawchuk. Anne also leaves numerous nieces & nephews. Anne was predeceased by her parents, Anne & Mike Melnyk; husband, Tommy; great-grandsons, Kyle Arndt & Baby William Kirk; sister, Kate Shipka; brothers, Mike, Andrew & John Melnyk, sister-in-law, Irene Melnyk; brothers-in-law, Andrew Sawchuk & Terry Sumka. Funeral Service Saturday, September 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Radway Agricentre, Radway. Reverend Father Benny Ambrosie with will be officiating with interment in Weasel Creek (St. Michael’s Cemetery), Weasel Creek. Anne’s family would like to acknowledge & thank Very Reverend Father Alexander Palamarchuk for being Mom’s spiritual guide & friend.
