Obituary

On December 8, 2016 Mrs. Anne Haluschak of Myrnam passed away on her 95th birthday.  Born in 1921 in a Musidora farmhouse to parents Tillie & Steve Krywiak, Anne was the second oldest of 9 children.  She lived on a farm in the Myrnam area until she married Harry on October 26, 1941.  They lived in Lavoy until 1956, then moved to Myrnam.  Harry was the Imperial Oil agent until his passing.  Anne was active in the community, and a member of the Royal Purple.  She owned the “Anne’s” dry goods store for many years.  Her passion was sewing.  If she wasn’t mending and hemming, she was sewing Ukrainian dance costumes, bridal and bridesmaid gowns, curtains, and anything that needed sewing.  Anne is survived by 2 daughters & 1 son, Joan (Ron) Shymko of Comox, B.C., Elmer Haluschak of Myrnam & Linda Chapelsky of Leduc; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Walter (Lois) Krywiak; 2 sisters, Emily Hrynew & Audrey (Bill) Drake; numerous nieces & nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Harry; daughter, Iris Berg; parents, Steve & Tillie Krywiak; 3 brothers & 2 sisters.  A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Myrnam.  Reverend Father Wasyl Sapiha will be officiating, with interment in the church cemetery.  If desired, donations may be made to Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation, Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Black Gold Health Foundation or Canada Helps.org c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB  T0A 3A1.  To send condolences online, please visit www.gracegardensfuneralchapel.com.
