On January 10, 2015, Mrs. Amelia Jasinsky of Elk Point passed away at the age of 70 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Dennis; son, Denis Jasinsky of Banff; daughter, Jennifer (Ken) Rutherford of Lloydminster, SK; 6 grandchildren, Anna, K.C., Alexandria, Victoria, Joseph & Theo; siblings, Ollie (Jack) Woolard, Alice (Harry) Krawchuk, Victoria (Ernie) Cardinal, Florence (Dan) Senko & Al (Chris) Pankow; father-in-law, William Jasinsky; brother-in-law, Dwayne Jasinsky; sister-in-law, Linda (Bob) Morgan; numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John & Rose Pankow; nephew, Robert Krawchuk; & mother-in-law, Eva Jasinsky. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, January 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Elk Point Seniors Centre, Elk Point, with Pastor Kelly Sibley officiating. Inurnment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Edmonton will follow at a later date. If desired, donations may be made to Haying in the 30's (Cancer Support Society) or Elk Point Palliative Care c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1. Relation: Amelia was my auntie
My deepest condolences to Amelia’s family and friends, and all who have known her. I will always remember when she came to visit us in BC. She helped my mother (her sister Ollie [Olga] made my brothers and I the most awesome costumes! One year I was Raggedy Ann. And Aunt Amelia, taught me not to be scared of needles, when I had a nasty sliver on my finger… she took it out so gently and easily. Amelia was drawn to nursing, because she was a gift. Amelia is still a gift to me. I light a candle for her and look at the pics I have… and have very fond memories. All the best to you… Denis and Dennis and Jen… Love & Peace… Kelly
