Obituary
On December 8, 2017, Mr. Alfons Hermes of St. Paul passed away at the age of 87 years. He is survived by siblings and other relatives in Germany. Alfons was predeceased by his parents, Maria & Bernhard Hermes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 21 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Cathedral, St. Paul. Dear family and friends, In the early 60s, Alfons and Bernard were hired by my father as farmhands. They were newly arrived to Canada and became part of my family for some time before my father died. I will always remember Alfons as a kind , quiet man who worked hard. He was good with us (all seven children) and my brother , Guy, continued to visit him well into adulthood. My brother has since passed away but it is to say that we never forgot Alfons, nor Bernard because of who they were and their life story. God bless them both. Lucille Belzil
