Obituary

It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Adelia Sosnowski of Myrnam on August 6, 2018 at the age of 90 years. After a brief illness, she died peacefully and surrounded by family, as she wished. Adelia was born on February 18, 1928 in Myrnam, Alberta to John Melnichuk and Anastasia Pylyp. She is survived by her children Sandra (Boris), Dennis, Coreen, Kevin, Pamela, Neil (Deborah) & Myles (Susan); daughter-in-law, Andrea; grandchildren, Tara (Jon), Jeremy, Heather (Ian), Jennie, Alan, Lana (Cameron), Erik (Beth), Laura, Scott, Gina, Mark, Ryley, Hayley, Kaitlyn & Deanna; great-grandchildren, Tessa, Connor, Avery, Emma, Lucas, Owen & Caroline; as well as her sister, Zenovia. Adelia was predeceased by her husband, John; son, Terry; brothers, Stephen, Paul, Joseph & Orest; sisters, Stashia & Natalka. Adelia was a modest and steadfast woman who was unremitting in the care and support of her children. She had a kind and generous spirit, and always put others before herself. She found great delight in her grand- and great-grandchildren, whom she never hesitated to indulge. She had a special way with children, and they loved being around her, too. Her simple yet powerful energy was a central force in her family, and she will be greatly missed. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Myrnam Elks Hall, Myrnam. Pastor Gary Dupuis will be officiating, with interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Myrnam.
