On March 7, 2026, Trent Peter Shane Cardinal of Saddle Lake, Alberta passed away at the age of 30 years. He is survived by his common-law & best friend, Jaci Delver; children, Kai, Dakota, Dylan & Daxton; mother, Misty McGilvery; father, Jonathan Cardinal; siblings, Anna-Rae Lonesinger, Faith “Tiny” Lonesinger, Lucas Cardinal, Willow Lonesinger, Cambree Cardinal & Creebear Cardinal; maternal grandma, Cindy McGilvery; maternal grandpa, Lyman McGilvery; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins. Trent was predeceased by his sister, Tara-Jean Cardinal; cousins, Isaih Cardinal & Landon McGilvery; kukom, Evelyn Rose Cardinal; mosom, Gilbert Steinhauer; biological mosom, Peter Janvier; uncle, Dusty McGilvery; & numerous other family & friends. A Wake will be held on Wednesday & Thursday, March 18 & 19 at Resource Centre (Old Onchaminahos School Gym), Saddle Lake (leaving Grace Gardens at 2:00 p.m.). A Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Resource Centre (Old Onchaminahos School Gym), Saddle Lake with interment in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Saddle Lake.
