With mixed emotions the family of Sennie Krawchuk, (originally from Glendon, Alberta) announces her peaceful passing into the arms of her Lord on July 25, 2011 at the age of 96. Sennie was born on a farm near Flat Lake, Alberta to William and Eudokia Wynychuk. At the age of 17 she married Lodic Krawchuk to whom she remained happily married for 68 years until his passing in 2001. Memories of Mom will be forever cherished by her children, John (Joyce) Krawchuk, Nina (Virgil) Lawrence, Janet Dickson, Joyce (Ray) Fallahay, Rosalyn (Roy) Francis, Ervin (Sue) Krawchuk & Dale (Tess) Krawchuk; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Rose Wynychuk, Mary (Dave) Krasowsky, Ruth (George) Coomby, Jeanne (Ed) Hunker and Nick (Jacquie) Wynychuk. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Lodic; her infant daughter, Mary; her son, Daniel; her granddaughter, Marla; her brothers, George, Kornel, John, Metro and Mike; and 4 sisters, Jennie, Kate, Maria and Beth.

Sennie spent 89 years of her life in the Glendon area where she was an active member of the Glendon Pentecostal Church. When looking after her own place became too difficult, she moved to the Shepherds Care Southside Manor in Edmonton; 3 years later she moved to Assisted Living at Rosedale at Griesbach Manor and most recently lived in the Venta Care Centre.

Sennie was a gifted seamstress and accomplished quilter. Her outstanding Ukrainian meals will always be remembered by friends and family. Her pioneer spirit and unwavering faith in the Lord was an inspiration to us all. Sennie lived a long life of good health, happiness and service to her community, family and God. Be not just hearers of the word, but doers is a philosophy she lived by.

A prayer service will be held on Friday, July 29 at 7:30 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, 4915-51 Avenue, St. Paul. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, July 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the RCMP Century Hall in Glendon with Reverend Bill Kryzanowski & Reverend Terry Luciow officiating; interment to follow at the Glendon Pentecostal Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to Resident Council (Venta Care Centre), Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada or a charity of ones choice c/o Box 1780, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A0.
