On May 4, 2025, Mr. Nelson Bernard of Goodfish Lake, Alberta passed away at the age of 86 years.  He is survived by his 3 sons, Jacob (Lucille) Bernard, Andy Bernard & Hughie (Janice) Makokis; step-daughter, Rachel Steinhauer; 2 sisters, Sylvia Whitefish & Mary Senger; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Nelson was predeceased by his 1st wife, Lena; 2nd wife, Annette; daughter, June Bird; son, Carl Bernard; step-children, Joanne, Raymond & Silver; grandchildren, Matthew, Raymond, James, Lindsay, Christopher & Courtney; 5 brothers, Laurie, Sam, David, Roland & Paul in infancy; 3 sisters, Irene, Cecile & Cornelia in infancy. A Wake will be held on Saturday, May 10 (Leaving Grace Gardens at 1:30 p.m.) & Sunday, May 11 at Goodfish Lake Cultural Centre, Goodfish Lake. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Goodfish Lake Cultural Centre, Goodfish Lake with Pastor Linda Burns officiating. Cremation to follow.
