On December 11, 2025, Mr. Michael "Gooch" Cardinal of Edmonton, formerly of Saddle Lake, Alberta passed away at the age of 54 years. He is survived by his special friend, Annie P.; children, Alyssa Buffalo, Brandon Buffalo & Tyra Brown; 4 grandchildren; siblings, Len Cardinal, Darlene Johnson, Robbie Moosewah, Joanne Cardinal, Eugene Cardinal, Patsy Louis, Virginia Cardinal & Noel Cardinal; numerous other relatives & friends. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Ernie & Mary Louise Cardinal; brothers, Kenny Moosewah & Willard Cardinal; paternal grandparents, Morris & Agnes Cardinal; maternal grandparents, Alex & Lavina Moosewah; niece, Kelsey “Pinky” Cardinal; nephews, Cory Johnson & Ryan Cardinal. A Wake will be held on Thursday, December 18 (leaving Grace Gardens at 11:00 a.m.) at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. A Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre with interment in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Saddle Lake.
