On February 10, 2026, Mr. Metro Yaceyko of Stry, Alberta passed away at the age of 99 years. He is survived by his loving children, Elaine Allen, Terry (Terri) & Richard (Evelyn); daughters-in-law, Louise & Peggy; 13 grandchildren, Brad (Kristen), Leslie, Patrick (Gladys), Ronald (Amanda), Richard, Matt (Tina), Sam (Annika), Sarah (Chamussodine), Angie (Ryan), Paul (Kim), Jessica (Dylan), Michael & Melissa (Drew); grandson-in-law, Bobby Burgess (Jayden); many great-grandchildren & great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Klimchuk; brother-in-law, Walter Marceniuk; numerous nieces & nephews. Metro was predeceased by his wife, Sophie; 2 sons, Len & Ron; grandchildren, Charles Yaceyko & Becky Burgess; brothers and sisters, Eva, Annie, Mary, Andrew, Teresa, Anastazia, John, Harry & Rosalia; 3 siblings in infancy, Ivan, Mike & Katie. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Stry.
