Marion Vinette (nee Peloquin)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marion Vinette, of Vilna, Alberta, on August 25th, 2026, at the age of 62 years.

Marion was born in Sudbury, Ontario, on July 5th, 1964, and soon after joined her family at their home on Chiniguchi Lake. There, she was raised by Pete and Gertrude Peloquin (nee Shea), alongside her five older sisters, Theresa Yawney, Trudy Hinds, Betty Ann Stanford, Pat Vinette, and Rosemary Comber. Chiniguchi Lake was always home to Marion. Throughout her life, she returned often, sharing time with family and friends. The memories made there remained a cherished part of who she was throughout her life.

Marion was the beloved wife of 43 years to Robert Vinette. Together, they built a life and a family filled with love, memories, and many wonderful years together.  She was a cherished mother to John (Andrea), Jennifer, and Amanda (Willard). She was a devoted grandmother to Joyce, Treyton, Logan, and Zachery, and will be deeply missed by her sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.

Marion was a woman whose greatest joy was her family. She was so proud of her three children and treasured every moment spent with them and her grandchildren.  She never missed an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments. Family gatherings were especially meaningful to Marion. She loved having everyone together, sharing stories and songs, and spending evenings around the fire, creating the kind of memories that will be treasured for generations.

Marion shared a special bond with her sisters and cherished the time they spent together as a family. The connection to her childhood home and the family she grew up with remained an important part of her throughout her life.

When Marion made Vilna her home, she embraced the community and the people who became an important part of her life. She volunteered her time and helped organize Vilna’s local farmers' market. She loved being involved, helping others, and being part of the community she called home, and she made many friendships and memories along the way.

Those who knew Marion will remember her for her love of family, her laughter, her stories, and her beautiful spirit. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Marion’s love will live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and friends, and in all the memories she so lovingly helped create.

Respecting Marion’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. Her family will return her cremated remains, at a later date, to Chiniguchi Lake, a place that remained ‘home’ throughout her life.
