Lena Ewanchuk

On December 1, 2011, Mrs. Lena Ewanchuk of Vilna passed away at the age of 87 years. She is survived by her loving family: 3 sons & 1 daughter, Myron (Marie) of Sherwood Park, Sonia (Peter) Mikitka of Edmonton, Larry (Elli) of Fort Saskatchewan & Ron (Leo) of Edmonton; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Teena Stefiuk of Apache Junction, Arizona; 4 sisters-in-law, Louise Sherstenko of Edmonton, Mary Ewanchuk of Edmonton, Rose Ewanchuk of Edmonton & Olga Ewanchuk of Vegreville; brother-in-law, John Ewanchuk of Vegreville; numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack; parents, Metro & Anne Sherstenka; & brother, Bill Sherstenko. Prayer Service Monday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Vilna Cultural Centre, Vilna. Funeral Service Tuesday, December 6 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paraskevia Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Township Road 584, Range Road 142, Downing. (Please note: Attending this historic rural church may require extra warm clothing; please dress appropriately according to the weather.) Reverend Father Benny Ambrosie and Reverend Father Nicholas Rauliuk officiating with interment in the church cemetery.
