On June 15, 2026, Josephine Cardinal of Saddle Lake, Alberta passed away at the age of 87 years. She is survived by her children, Darlene, Valerie, Kevin (Tracy), Doreen, Cynthia & Phyllis; 20 grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan, Adam, Sean, Nikita, Mika, Robert, Ian, Lee, Ches, Sundance, Skye, Rhea, Jeremiah, Summer, Sevina, Seamus, Talia, Faith & Vanessa; Godchildren, Cherrilene & Pearl; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Josephine was predeceased by her parents, Joshua & Mathilda Whiskeyjack; daughter, Marlene; son, Robyn; grandchildren, Maverick, Eartha & Marsha; 3 great-grandchildren in infancy; 5 brothers, James, Ben, Donald, Albert & Alex; 6 sisters, Jenny, Regina, Christine, Ida, Julia & Alexina. A Wake will be held Thursday, June 18 (leaving Grace Gardens at 2:00 p.m.) & Friday, June 19 at Resource Centre (Old Onchaminahos School Gym), Saddle Lake. A Pipe Ceremony & Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Resource Centre (Old Onchaminahos School Gym), Saddle Lake with interment in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Saddle Lake.
