John Vernon Nelson

On August 23, 2012, Mr. John Vernon Nelson of Elk Point passed away at the age of 71 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; children, Roby of Maple Ridge, B.C., Shawn (Tammy) of Sherwood Park & Angie (James) Pinder of Elk Point; 7 grandchildren, Curtis, Tanner, Jordan, Connor, Jenessa, Tristan & Adana; siblings, Helen Schmidt of Drumheller, Anna (Robert) McCormack of Lloydminster, Lee Nelson of Clandonald & Leslie (Marge) Nelson of St. Albert; numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Idelore & Elsa; son, Dale; daughter, Connie Smereka; 2 brothers-in-law, Frank Schmidt & Peter Lakusta; sister-in-law, Joan Nelson. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 29 at 1:00 p.m. at Allied Arts Centre, Elk Point, with Reverend Sam Donaldson officiating.
