John Goruk

The family of John Goruk regrets to announce his passing on August 10, 2012 at the Smoky Lake Auxiliary Hospital. John was born on April 3, 1926 and lived the majority of his life in the Vilna and Smoky Lake area. He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers, Metro, George (Kate), Peter & Nick (Doreen); sister, Mary (Larry) Larson; as well as sisters-in-law, Nancy & Martha Goruk. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary; 2 children, Caroline & Doreen; parents, William & Jenny Goruk; brothers, Andy & Phillip; sisters-in-law, Lucy & Nancy. He will be sadly missed by his numerous friends, nieces, nephews & his fishing buddies. A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, August 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Vilna Cultural Centre, Vilna. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 16 at 10:00 a.m. at National Hall, Smoky Lake. Reverend Father Benny Ambrosie will be officiating with interment in North Bellis Cemetery, Bellis.
