On September 12, 2025, Mr. James “Jim” Frederick Preston formerly of Vilna, Alberta passed away at the age of 97 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Violet (nee Van Riper); children, Geraldine Dutchin, LaVerne McGregor, Allen (Eva) Preston & Lorna Adams; grandchildren, Stephanie Anne Cox, Bradley Sean Dutchin, Murray (Selena) Jenkins, James (Jenna) Preston, Mathew (Alanna) Preston, Carlin (Tim) Adams; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie & Brooklyn Jenkins, Jack James Preston, James & Audrina Adams; sister, Joyce (Lawrence) Sabatier; furry great-grand boy, Dexter; niece, Leila (Jon) Sabatier; nephews, Glen (Evelyn) Sabatier, Brian (Trudy) Sabatier & Jason (Donna) Sabatier; & several cousins. Jim was predeceased by his parents, William & Leila Preston; brother, Ernest (Sharon); twin sister & brother, Audrey & Allen.
