It is with profound sadness and heaviness of hearts that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather and husband, George Bodnar. He rests peacefully at the age of 85 following a courageous battle with cancer. Dad was born April 28, 1926 in Brosseau, Alberta, and passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011, with family by his side. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Anne of 59 years; 5 sons & 1 daughter, Gordon (Gladys), Tony (Judy), Christine (Cliff), Zen (Lila), Ken (Bonnie) & George (Maryann); 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Mike, Bill (Henrietta), Nick, Dick, Peter (Linda); 3 sisters, Nancy Malo, Helen Lavoie & Mary (Bill) Taschuk; numerous nieces & nephews. George was predeceased by his parents, John & Waselka Elsie, brothers, John & Alex; sister, Maria; sisters-in-law, Jean, Rose, Beatrice, Sherrell McCallum, Lorraine Doutdy; brothers-in-law, Real Lavoie, Camille Noel, Johnny Malo; several nieces & nephews. A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, December 20 at 7:30 p.m. at All Saints Ukrainian Cultural Centre, St. Paul. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 21 at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Ukrainian Cultural Centre, St. Paul. Reverend Father Wasyl Sapiha officiating with interment in Union Cemetery, St. Paul. If desired, donations may be made to Haying in the 30”s Cancer Support Society, Two Hills Palliative Care Association, Alberta Cancer Society or Cross Cancer Institute c/o Box 1780, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A0.
