On November 27, 2025, Andrez “Dre” Cardinal of Saddle Lake, Alberta passed away at the age of 18 years. He is survived by his siblings, Nevaeh Cardinal, Darius Cardinal Potts, Eric Saddleback, Hailey Okeynan & Ana Simon; aunt, Ann Steinhauer; uncle, Fabian Webster; cousins, Jaxxon Delver & Leejay Delver; biological father, Darrell Okeynan; kokom, Ernestine Northwest; numerous aunts, uncles, kokoms & mosoms. Andrez was predeceased by his mother, Angelina Cardinal; step-father, Ron Soosay; maternal grandparents, Albert A. Cardinal & Lena Cardinal; paternal grandparents, Derwin & Judie Okeynan. A Wake will be held on Wednesday, December 3 (leaving Grace Gardens at 11:00 a.m.) at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 5 at 11:00 a.m. at  Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake.
